Warm Homes Sheffield can provide a range of fully-funded energy efficiency improvements for your home. Sheffield City Council has secured grant funding to improve the energy efficiency of eligible homes within the Sheffield area. These improvements are funded by the Home Upgrade Grant (HUG) funding, which is administered by the Government’s Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ).

This scheme runs until March 2025 and aims to improve the energy efficiency of low-income and low energy performance homes. The funding available can be used for the following energy efficiency measures:

  • Solid Wall Insulation (internal or external)

  • Cavity Wall Insulation 

  • Underfloor Insulation 

  • Loft Insulation 

  • Room-in-Roof Insulation

  • Park Home Insulation  

  • Air Source Heat Pump 

  • Solar PV Panels  

  • High Heat Retention Storage Heaters

Please note that all measures are subject to the property receiving a satisfactory survey from a qualified installer and being technically and financially feasible under the funding available within the programme.

If you meet the following eligibility criteria, then please apply now.

You may qualify for the funding if the following statements apply:

And either:

​

  • You have a total household annual income of £36,000 or less (before housing costs/bills)

​

Or:

​

  • You have a total household annual income of £20,000 or less after housing costs (mortgage/rent and council tax)

​

Or:

​

  • You receive one of the following means-tested benefits:

​​

  • Child Tax Credits (CTC)

  • Housing Benefit

  • Income based Jobseekers allowance (JSA)

  • Income related Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)

  • Income Support (IS)

  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit Working Tax Credit (WTC)

  • Pension Credit Savings Credit

  • Universal Credit (UC)

  • Your home is within an LSOA (Lower Super Output Area) 1-3 postcode area (we will verify this for you once you have made your application)

Please note: This programme is available to owner occupiers and private rental tenants only, living in a property that does not use mains gas as the primary heating fuel. Please do not apply if you are a local authority or housing association tenant, as your application will not be accepted.

 

If your application is initially assessed as eligible, the Warm Homes Sheffield team will contact you to verify your eligibility. Depending on how your eligible, you may need to provide information such as bank statements, payslips or council tax bill/proof of address; or if you are self employed accounts from your last financial year or trading summary. All evidence provided will be securely stored in line with GDPR regulations and will only be used to verify your eligibility for the Warm Homes Sheffield programme. Without verification of your eligibility, we will be unable to progress your application.
